Do you agree not to publish, post, or communicate any false, misleading, defamatory, or materially disparaging statements concerning WACRRA, the originating research institution, or their personnel in connection with the fostered animal(s)? *
Do you acknowledge that retired research animals may require time, patience, and socialization to acclimate to life outside their safe research environment? The animal(s) are used to consistent care routines and caregivers, so many everyday experiences and household sounds may be unfamiliar or startling. During this transition, they require a safe, supportive, and consistent environment as they adapt to life with a foster while transitioning to a permanent forever family. *
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WACRRA and its directors, officers, board members, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliated organizations from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to the foster’s negligent or intentional acts or omissions, breach of this Agreement, or failure to follow WACRRA policies or instructions except to the extent caused by WACRRA’s gross negligence, willful misconduct, or where such release is prohibited by law. *
Do you understand that fostering involves inherent risks, including but not limited to animal bites, scratches, allergic reactions, zoonotic diseases, lifting injuries, slips, falls property damage, and emotional distress associated with caring for sick, injured, or deceased animals? As a foster, you voluntarily assume all such risks associated with participation of WACRRA activities. *
Do you understand that WACRRA does not provide health insurance, workers’ compensation coverage for fosters, or insurance for personal property? The foster assumes responsibility for any loss of or damage to personal property brought to foster activities. *
